A “vacation home exchange,” also called “change of holiday house”, usually organized by an online service – essentially a database of owners who have signed up to exhibit their homes and their list of destinations preferred swaps.
Some of the online switching service has tens of thousands of members, in places like the United States, Canada and many European countries, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and more. You might think your home location would not be particularly appropriate for visitors, but remember that many people on holiday for reasons other than to go somewhere exotic – you might want to visit friends or relatives, or stop for a holiday longer pause (which I did it myself) or special benefits, such as museums, art, ornithology, archeology or architecture that make the place attractive. One of the family group, which were replaced with immigrants who simply wanted to take another look at the country they had left long before. Online exchanges offer a lot of detail, the characteristics of the target – a lot of descriptions and photos, to help assess whether one of these customer requirements.
